Lets go back to the time when wood was cheap. What you're looking at here is the rendition of an antique collection of Terengganu's Malay timber houses, owned by us, in digital 3D form. But the real thing is a private property of Tengku Ismail bin Tengku Su. A second cousin to the present H.R.H. the Sultan of Terengganu. The place is called Pura Tanjung Sabtu.

Fuel price is going to increase again. Better keep up with the news so when the date is finally out you can be among the first to queue up at petrol station during midnight to fill up with the last bit of cheap petrol before the new price kicks in. You'll save tremendous amount of money for the following month if you stock up with no less than 3000 gallon. While you're waiting for 10 cars in front to finish filling up,

No, this isn't one of those ghost hunting episodes you see on TV. Neither these are hyper-realistic multi-textured detailed phantom conjectured polygonal modelling with astral dimension wire-framed 3D rendering of gravestones. Well, we would have been hunting some ghosts had we been in that graveyard during the night, with infrared cameras and if we were brave souls.

3rd March
Probably this was the most important day of our visit. We entered Kelantan and into Kandis district. After a night sleep at a humble resort looking out to a very beautiful beach, we took off to only about less than a kilometer away to Kandis Resource Center. This place is run by Puan Rosnawati Othman, the wife of the late Nik Rasyidin who is an avid woodcarver and a keris aficionado.
We met Puan Rosnawati, had sit in her meeting room where we discussed about our project. It has been an interesting session and it went along until noon accompanied by

2nd March
We moved up north to Besut before going up further to Kelantan. The journey took a few hours of the day so we can't help limiting the destination to just one for this day. Two actually if we count the short pit stop we did at Balai Seni Wanpo before reaching Desa Ukiran Kayu in Besut. Well the plan actually was more than mere saying hi! to Wan Mustapha Wan Su, or Wanpo himself who is the founder of the Balai Seni. An unfortunate, or rather embarassing event occurred that saw us leaving the place redfaced. What happened was

In case you are wondering why a multimedia company is even interested in organizing a study trip to the museums like kindergarten kids have once a year? It was a research trip, to find as much material for our current project. The details of the project remains not to be disclosed at this moment (don't ask) but we need those cultural elements and motives as well as the background information to be the ingredients for our product. The project spans in 1 year period starting from 1st January 2010.

There was some formatting problem in this post. I changed my mind about re-typing. Suffice to say, we've been to Terengganu and Kelantan for research trip from 28th March till 5th April 2010. Continue reading updates about the trip in later posts.
