The town of Kota Bharu, Where we had a decent stay at Crystal Lodge, good service but the bathroom door comes with a dysfunctional lock and there was renovation works on going. So it was noisy. But there are more important things to point out in regards to our research. We had asked Puan Rosnawati

Apple iPhone 4. Done with 3Gs Already?
Image from apple.com
Yes we can't help ourself from showing a bit of our tech buff side, aside from our usual interest in multimedia. Gadget and multimedia are not that far off anyway. The recent launch of iPhone 4 got one of us jumping like he forgot there's gravity. He owns the first generation iPhone and

It took 7 hours to render just one 3D still image scene. Can't imagine how long it'll take to render a whole animation. Looks like our aim to go for full HD animation might have to be abandoned. Actually, it's still too early to conclude anything. Afterall, we will be getting new machines this month. Or next month. Or next next month... We pray hard. As for now, we have completed modelling of two houses, rumah Tok Ku Paloh and rumah tele and the latter has been fully textured and rendered. To produce this, we had to push our staff until he almost snapped his spinal cord and we thrown away our kitty. The result..,

3rd March
Probably this was the most important day of our visit. We entered Kelantan and into Kandis district. After a night sleep at a humble resort looking out to a very beautiful beach, we took off to only about less than a kilometer away to Kandis Resource Center. This place is run by Puan Rosnawati Othman, the wife of the late Nik Rasyidin who is an avid woodcarver and a keris aficionado.
We met Puan Rosnawati, had sit in her meeting room where we discussed about our project. It has been an interesting session and it went along until noon accompanied by

Word of Wisdom
Today, I came across a very famous quote. It was inspiring to say the least. A growing company like Axisthink, the urge to find for new ideas is overwhelmingly high to put us barely inside the competitions. Let alone beat them. While we already have a good network of clients, it's not necessarily telling us that we will do just as good for more years to come. At times, brain freezes. But external sources like some very enlightening quotes by influential people do help thaw out our generative capacity into a full productive machine back again.
Here's the quote I found today...

Axisthink Teaser
Come back to present time for a bit, shall we? Well here is a teaser video of our company, as evidence showing that Axisthink is alive and kicking. We used 3D as the main ingredient, done in 3Ds Max and mixed everithing up with Adobe After Effect for the animation. I'll post the complete animation later. Tell us if you like it.

2nd March
We moved up north to Besut before going up further to Kelantan. The journey took a few hours of the day so we can't help limiting the destination to just one for this day. Two actually if we count the short pit stop we did at Balai Seni Wanpo before reaching Desa Ukiran Kayu in Besut. Well the plan actually was more than mere saying hi! to Wan Mustapha Wan Su, or Wanpo himself who is the founder of the Balai Seni. An unfortunate, or rather embarassing event occurred that saw us leaving the place redfaced. What happened was

In case you are wondering why a multimedia company is even interested in organizing a study trip to the museums like kindergarten kids have once a year? It was a research trip, to find as much material for our current project. The details of the project remains not to be disclosed at this moment (don't ask) but we need those cultural elements and motives as well as the background information to be the ingredients for our product. The project spans in 1 year period starting from 1st January 2010.

There was some formatting problem in this post. I changed my mind about re-typing. Suffice to say, we've been to Terengganu and Kelantan for research trip from 28th March till 5th April 2010. Continue reading updates about the trip in later posts.
